We think testimonials are the best way to tell new customers about what we do and how happy the animals are that stay with us. Here are a few but for lots more please visit our facebook page.
Brilliant place. Our golden retriever hates being left but once there we know he is very happy and well looked after. Good you can keep an eye on them on Facebook

Its lovely to see all the pics of him enoying himself and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your service. Once again, many thanks and big licks from Colt x

A belated huge thank you to Naptha and all the wonderful staff who loved and cared for Willow our labradoodle and Corkey and Lottie our two very naughty but great fun cats for a whole month including Christmas while we went to New Zealand. They came home to us relaxed and in good form. Special thanks for managing Willow’s foot problem so professionally. Also we appreciated seeing the photographs of them on Facebook. That was so reassuring and comforting for us. Thank you! Wishing you all a great 2019. We have been bringing our pets to you for several years and always feel confident in your high standards, professional, accommodating and caring approach. Nothing is too much trouble if it’s in the pets best interests.

How it all began
Michael and I came to Naptha Boarding in March 2012 having searched the country for a boarding facility that would allow us to build a boarding business that we would happily use for our pets. Having used kennels for our German Shepherds and Labradors we were convinced that there was a better way to approach pet boarding. Many kennels and catteries had got left behind with old fashioned ideas and outdated methods. Through our own experiences with boarding we recognised that dogs that had good exercise and got out and met other dogs were more content in their kennels. The large secure paddock was therefore an essential part of our requirements.
Owning cats as well as dogs, we also wanted to provide boarding for cats on the same site and the spacious cattery with large outside runs, set away from the kennels was just what we were looking for.
Since then the business has grown and now employs 8 fabulous, long serving staff. All of them kind, caring, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable in all thing cats, dogs and small furries. We are very proud of what we have created and hope that you will see the passion that we have for animals and customers shining through.
Meet the team at Naptha Boarding
I live on site with my husband Mick, Poppy the cat who we rescued when we lived in France, Finn and Nuala, our lurchers and Jake a rescue German Shepherd who came to stay in the kennels and we just couldn't give up.
I love all animals and but I especially love oriental cats having owned Siamese, Burmese and an Abyssinian in the past.
Since being at Naptha Boarding I have developed a fascination for breed history and how dogs, especially, have changed over the years and how their original purpose affects so much of what they do.
It goes without saying that I love the animals that come and stay with us but even more I love that we provide a service to our customers. As we have learnt over the years it's not all about holidays; there are sadder, more difficult circumstances when your pets need to be taken care of. I love that our customers can rely on us to help them out during these tough times.
I love both cats and dogs but my passion is for cats thanks to my beautiful boy Angel who inspired me to know as much as I could about my feline companions.
I have always had animals in my life and now share it with an occasionally naughty dog called Ben, a domestic shorthaired cat called Jinx, who is very wise but not that old and 2 very naughty Maine Coon cats called Haribo and Aslan, also known as ASBO!
The best part of my job is seeing all the different characters and there is always one or more that make you smile each day. I love watching puppies and kittens develop their own personalities and it's great to see them coming back year after year.
Animals have always played a huge part in my life. Growing up I would be glued to "The Really Wild Show" or playing with Gizmo and Daisy the dog and cat we had then.
Animals, especially dogs, have always been a passion of mine and I have been very fortunate to work with them since I left school.
I have been working at Naptha Boarding for 6 years having come here to do my Level 3 apprenticeship. I have met all kinds of animals, big and small and have watched them play and grow and have built a friendship with each of them.
I have worked at Naptha Boarding for 4 years and can't imagine doing anything else. I feel very lucky to be able to say that my job is working with animals everyday.
I am very passionate about all animals but especially rescue dogs which I have 4 of myself. We also have a cat who rules them all.
Growing up I had rabbits, guinea pigs and a hamster so I really like it when we have these come to stay so that I can spend time with them.
The most rewarding part of my job is to watch a nervous dog grow in confidence and know that you have been part of its journey.
I’ve been working at Naptha for almost 4 years now. I enjoy seeing the regulars and have enjoyed watching them grow up over the years. What I love the most is seeing how the dogs develop and gain in confidence during their time with us.
I have always had a huge love for all animals and I’m at my happiest when I’m surrounded by some sort of animal.
At home I have a rescue cat called Korea, a Labrador x SBT called Ruby and a chocolate Labrador called Toffee.
In my spare time you will find me studying for my Level 3 qualification in dog behaviour or out walking in the countryside with Ruby and Toffee.
If I could be any animal I would want to be a giraffe
I did a week of work experience in year 10 at school and I loved it so much I wanted to come and do my level 2 animal care apprenticeship at Naptha Boarding. I started in September and I enjoy working with all the animals and I am learning lots of new skills.
I have 3 animals of my own, a boxer called Lola and 2 guinepigs called Snowdrop and Coco. I am really excited because we are getting a new boxer puppy.
When I was at school I was won the Derbyshire Young Achievers Award in 2012 and in 2016 the Derby Telegraph Inspirational Award, both of which I am very proud of.
My best friends are two rats, a Shar Pei and a Sproodle. I did my college work experience at Naptha, and loved it so much I just had to come back! Now I get to do the job I love with people who care about dogs, cats and small furries as much as I do. For me, nothing is more important than ensuring an animal’s life is as comfortable as possible, and at Naptha we always go the extra mile to make that happen, no matter the inconvenience.
